During your initial consultation a full case history will be taken to include past medical history and current medication. This will be followed by a structural examination and you may be asked to remove some outer clothing. During the examination you may be asked to perform a series of movements followed by the Osteopath palpating the painful areas. This will allow the Osteopath to make a diagnosis and if appropriate treat you. Osteopathic treatment consists of deep soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation and manipulation.
If the Osteopath feels you need further investigations such as x-rays, an MRI scan or blood tests, these can be arranged through your doctor. We have links with private scanning centres if required.
